MUTUAL SUPPORT ON PRICE ISSUE

Recently, due to heavy pressure on general cost rise, our company board held a meeting 

on the price issue to all our products. Here bellows are the points.


Material Cost Rise

In late 2007, the material cost was gradually rising. Starting from February 2008, with

Brazilian CVRD heavily raised the iron cost by 65%, all other raw materials have more or 

less become more expensive. Compared with prices in April in 2007, here in China, steel 

cost rises by 62.5%, cold plate cost rises by 63.4%, 45# steel rises by 65.6%, copper 

rises by 62.5%, lead cost rises by 187.5%, rubber cost rises by 53.3%, 40Cr cost rises by 

54.8%. Other main materials in motorcycle manufacturing also have noticeable rise in 

cost.


Exchange Rate

In April 2007, the exchange rate USD:RMB=1:7.7268. Now, the rate is USD:RMB=1: 

7.0593. In other words, a model in April last year was USD$300, now, the price would be 

USD$300*7.7268/7.0593=USD$328.4, not considering the cost rise.

Consumer Price Index

In 2007, China¡¯s CPI is 4.8%. But from February 2008, it becomes 7.1%. This rise will be 

penetrated into all aspects of life here in China, leading to a series of price jump. Not only 

raw materials, but also electricity price rising and industrial electricity shortage. The 

international petroleum price climbing leads to petrochemical products having never-had 

new prices. This CPI rising also makes the labor cost going up.


Delivery Delay

Due to prices negotiations with parts supplying factories, many factories temporarily 

stopped the orders to parts factories. We all expect the material costs would go down a bit.

 After 2 months of look-on, we have to accept the fact that in short period, the prices are 

keeping rising, not decreasing. Thus, all motorcycle factories restart orders to the parts 

factories. This makes the production of the parts factory over burden which directly affects 

the delivery time of ours.


With the price rising issues, originally, the board was expecting that our factory could 

digest it by ourselves, not transferring it to our customers. But after careful study of all 

aspects, we found we have to take this issue with you, our customers.
